Purwanchal Vidyamandir celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 9th July, 2023 at the Science City Auditorium with a grand cultural extravaganza.
The Chief Guest for the evening was Padma Shri awardee entrepreneur and industrialist Shri Prahlad Rai Agarwala and the Guest of Honour was the Senior Director (Education) of Kalyan Bharti Trust Prof. Dr. Basab Chaudhuri.
The programme started with the invocation of Ganesha which was followed by the welcome speech by the Principal Ms. Rani Jessica Gomes. After the ceremonial lamp lighting, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour unveiled the school magazine -The Zeal to a thunderous applause. The next event of the evening was the felicitation of the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour, the former Rector Dr. J. Goswami and the Founder Principal Ms. Pushpita Barik.
The Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the special guests shared their words of wisdom with the audience.
The highlight of the evening was the mythological dance drama, Anandodham- the epiphany of 25’ staged by more than 400 students. The audience was mesmerized by the resplendent costumes and riveting moves of the cast. On the whole it was a very successful programme glorifying the 25th anniversary of the school.
Purwanchal Vidyamandir is associated with Connecting Classrooms programme structured by the British Council, UK since 2013.

The Connecting Classrooms programme is a flagship enterprise by British Council to embed global dimension into curricula worldwide.
The Connecting Classrooms programme provides a framework to implement activities of international concern for the pupils throughout the session.
Pupils from Lower Infant to Class XII work on various projects that are specially designed for each class and guided by teacher co-ordinators.
The programme has immensely helped our students to understand the importance of education through Global Learning with schools all over the world and
to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes so as to thrive as a worthy individual global citizen.
It has given us an opportunity to interact with overseas schools on creative teaching practices and real-time global learning.
We have created a place internationally through our exchange programme via our partner schools spread across countries such as
Nepal,Greece, Kenya, South Korea, Bangladesh, USA and UK. Recently we have also linked up with schools from Taiwan, Nigeria,Netherland, Spain and Turkey.
The Connecting Classrooms is more than just understanding global issues; it is about instilling both the teachers and students skills,
potentials or the power to bring about a positive change in the world. At present the IDS (formerlyISA) –International Dimension in Schools Award,
has its presence in 31 countries worldwide. It is indeed a great achievement for us as the proud recipient of winning this global recognition the prestigious IDS Award for three consecutive terms 2015-18, 2018- 21&2022-25.
It has ignited the team-spirit and dedication in the teachers and students that has resulted in bringing this accolade and recognition to our Purwanchal Vidyamandir.
Under the leadership and guidance of our Principal, Mrs. Rani Jessica Gomes and her whole-hearted support of the international programme in school,
we are developing and implementing international school programmes with partner schools through joint projects.
The activities are designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge and leadership qualities.
Since the commencement of the new academic session in April 2022, the students have started with renewed enthusiasm to work with partner schools of
various countries and cultures through collaborative curriculum- based projects, across a wide range of subjects.We hope to work hard and have yet another
successful year in building new global partnerships and sustaining the existing ones.
Our school remains committed to inculcating internationalism in education and working with schools across continents that support global citizenship.
On 10th March - Scouts & Guides of Purwanchal Vidyamandir went on a seven day camp to Assam and Meghalaya. The Northeast India, fondly called the land of seven sisters, is a fascinating place with enchanted frontiers. 26 Scouts and 15 Guides attended the camp. A lot of activities were conducted. All activities in Scouts & Guides were based on four pillars – Character training, Health & Strength, Skill development and Service to others. The students also visited the sacred Kamakhya Temple and took a trip to Champtapata forest.
It was a proud moment for all the students to witness their fellow mates being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders.
The newly elected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while receiving their prestigious house flag, badge and sash from the Principal.
The Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains and House Captains stood tall while holding the flags of PVM as destiny prepared itself to bring in many more laurels to the institution.
The Principal, Ms. Rani Jessica Gomes motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of them. She said that being a leader is a vital role and that the new Student Council would have ample responsibilities to shoulder.
‘Monsoon’ - this beautiful season of the year is a gift from God to mankind. The students of Classes I to V celebrated Monsoon in the month of July, 2024. The Monsoon Week was planned with a lot of engaging activities. Young children came to school with different drawings related to monsoon in A4 sheets and Charts. They did craft work in school on the theme-Monsoon.
The students of Classes I-V observed World Earth Day. A range of Art & Craft activities were planned to make the children aware about the importance of conserving natural resources and motivate them to contribute towards protecting their environment.
Purwanchal Vidyamandir celebrated the 78th Independence Day on Thursday 15
August. Bringing together the school community in the bright sunshine with the
senior school children.

the esteemed members of Purwanchal Nagrik Samity to the celebrations and
delivered the welcome speech
The celebrations started with Flag Hoisting by Mr. Raj Kumar Chanwasia followed
by the invocation song. Irrespective of our culture, civilization, caste, creed, and
religion, the most important and binding factor is our National Flag. The Tricolor
symbolizes courage, truth, and prosperity.
Purwanchal Vidyamandir witnessed a momentous occasion with the inauguration of its renovated, state-of-the-art auditorium. The event coincided with Teachers’ Day celebrations, making it a double cause for cheer. The auditorium, a masterpiece of modern technology boasts of advanced sound and lighting systems, a multipurpose stage and comfortable seating. It offers a soothing ambience for a superior experience. The ceremonial lamp was lit and the ribbon cut by the Guest of Honour Mr. Subhash Agarwal, noted entrepreneur and philanthropist. This was followed by a rapturous applause as the gathering entered the auditorium. The invocation to Lord Ganesha, the God of auspicious beginnings marked the onset. Principal Ms. Rani Jessica Gomes expressed her gratitude to the School Managing Committee for their far-sightedness and their generous support in making this ambitious project a reality. She emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in providing students with a stimulating learning environment while providing space for academic and cultural events.
The Teachers’ Day celebrations began with the Principal’s address emphasizing the vital role of teachers in nurturing young minds and in creating all professionals. The teachers and staff were honoured for their dedication and contributions to the school’s growth and success. Eight staff members including teachers were honoured with a cash award for their 25 long and committed years of service to the institution. The felicitation was followed by a celebration lunch. The event was a resounding success, leaving everyone present with a sense of pride and anticipation for the exciting times ahead for Purwanchal Vidyamandir.
