Sports

The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It increases self-esteem and mental alertness, motivates students and enables them to become confident.

Purwanchal Vidyamandir celebrates its ‘Sports Day’ in the month of December every alternate year. We have two categories – Junior Sports and Senior Sports on two different days.

Our school emphasizes on the importance of physical activities from a very tender age. Junior Sports is one of the most thrilling and exciting events of our school involving children from classes Lower Infant to ClassV. Children take part in innovative races like teddy bear race, fairy race, grandmother/grandfather race to name a few.

Secondary Sports begins with the lighting of the torch by the Chief Guest, followed by March Past, drill, yoga, pyramid, karate and various kinds of races.

Children belonging to four different houses Blue, Green, Red and Yellow perform their best to earn points for their respective houses. There are events for ex-students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff as well. Although any one house is declared as the Champion, the ultimate winner is always the spirit of sportsmanship.

We have cricket team which participates in CAB tournament and our school has taken participations in Star Sports KBD Junior Season 3.

Clubs

Public Speaking club “ORARE”

Our school club – Orare , inspires the students in effective public speaking to express their views clearly and eloquently. The club members are given opportunities to participate in debates, elocution, extempore and also in different inter-school competitions.

Quiz Club

The Quiz Club takes pride in being one of the most proactive & popular clubs of Purwanchal Vidyamandir. They are given opportunities to participate in inter-house quiz in the school campus as well as inter-school quiz competitions.

Scouts and Guides

The aim of ‘Scouts & Guides’ is to develop the spirit of unity ,fellow-feeling and good citizenship among the students by strengthening their character and helping them to make the world a better place. Through a variety of activities, the students of our school develop leadership qualities, learn about services useful to the public. Throughout their formative years in a non-formal way they are taught to imbibe the qualities of a good citizen.

Sports Club

Sports Club is a platform, where students learn self-discipline , co-operation and team-work through various games like cricket ,basketball and various tracks & field events. Through this club the students are encouraged to participate in different games , learn skills and improve their health.

Karate

The club members learn the techniques of self defence and martial arts to inculcate and imbibe the best human qualities of an individual. It also helps them to learn self discipline self control and to be self reliant.

Art & Craft Club

The Art & Craft Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir enhances the talents and creativity in the children. They are encouraged to give expression to their own creativity through various materials.

Music & Dance Club "TOURJOTRIK"

The students and the teachers of Tourjotrik- the Music and Dance Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir swing into action with full energy and enthusiasm. The club gives them adequate opportunities to channelize and showcase their potential and talent. Students endeavour to master Eastern and Western music and also participate in various school activities. Special functions are organised by the club members to celebrate important cultural events.

Drama Club

The Drama Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir believes in the principle of touching dramatics in natural way. Our objective is to bring out the creative bent of mind among children and express that through words and action. The members participate in various inter-school fests and bring back accolades.

Eco Club

Our Eco club is a means by which the students take action to improve their environment through eco- friendly activities. They are encouraged to practise the three R’s – Reuse, Recycle and Reduce waste in their daily lives. They are taught to appreciate the beauty in nature and keep their environment clean, healthy and hygienic..
