On the eve of this festive season, the music and dance club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir, *Tourjotrik* presented, *Ayi Chinmoyee* A humble endeavour of our students to portray the annihilation of the demon micro-organism, Corona in the hands of the goddess Durga. In this global crisis, it is our attempt to bring awareness across the society through the message that man can protect himself following some very simple conventions ordained by gods and goddesses themselves.
We at Purwanchal Vidyamandir believe that artistic self-expression not only regulate a child's behaviour but also boost self esteem and develop self awareness .Thus an activity was designed for classes 3 and 4 students where they had to draw on topics related to Covid19 pandemic with the hope that it will help them to cope with the troubled times .The topics were:
Class 3 -'Four things to keep ourselves away from coronavirus'
Class 4 -'New ways of studying during coronavirus pandemic'.
Mask not only offers protection to you but also meant to protect those around you. COVID 19 spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets- when you cough ,sneeze, talk, shout or sing. Hence masks act as a simple barrier to help to help prevent these droplets to reach others. Students of classes 3 and 4 were involved in a mask making activity at home and it served as a unique way to blend art and awareness.

"Of all those arts in which the wise excel,
Nature's chief masterpiece is writing well."- Andre Breton
As we struggle with Covid 19 pandemic, while trying to return our lives to normal, class V students of Purwanchal Vidyamandir were engaged in an online essay writing competition on the 27 th of October,2020.
The topic of their essay was ' Go away,Corona!' Students were instructed to write about the safety measures we must take to prevent the spread of Covid 19. They were also asked to draw and colour a picture related to their essay.
Students greatly enjoyed writing on a topic of current relevance and drew upon the information and knowledge they had gathered from multiple sources over so many months of the pandemic .
A lot of misinformation and myths about COVID-19 are circulating on the internet and in social media. Misinformation is one of the biggest challenges in fighting COVID-19. This is why its important to advertise properly how to combat the virus and create public awareness.Ideally, students knew that their advertisements should capture attention and entice the public to follow all protocols. Our students of classes 8,9 and 12 have also ensured that their advertisements are credible, unique, memorable and act as an effective tool to create awareness and understanding the virus to effectively combat it.

COVID -19 Defining the Challenge
Yoga for Health Awareness plays a key role in our approach to improve access to healthcare. It is important to inform and educate people about different health issues, their attitudes, behaviours and beliefs so that there is better understanding to deal with various health hazards.
As the world battles Covid 19 pandemic, health awareness programme needs a renewed impetus to help and reduce the intensity of the spreading rate of this deadly virus and thereby reducing the death rates arising out of it. It will also educate the masses on the precautionary and preventive measures required to control this pandemic.
We at Purwanchal Vidyamandir encourage our students to raise awareness and help humanity to strive against Covid 19.
The Importance of Hand Sanitizer
The best way to kill germs is washing your hands with soap and water. However, one cannot have access to soap and water all the time. During these times, use of alcohol based hand sanitizer prevents the hand transmission of germs. It is also effective against the novel coronavirus as it inactivates the virus thus making it non infectious. Hand sanitizers can be easily made at home using basic ingredients and the students of classes IX and XI show how to make it.

" Great things are done by a series of small things brought together ".
Truly, this serves as a reminder that every action we take each day, regardless of how small, can make a difference.
Coronavirus is definitely the biggest global health, social and economic crisis of the 21st century and it is tearing children's lives apart. In such a circumstance, our students have been motivated to stay positive and raise awareness in their own small ways to protect oneself from Covid 19. and have collaborated with national and international schools for the same.
The students of classes III,IV and V have shared handmade greeting cards and drawings to their international partner school students in UK, Nigeria and Netherlands to ensure that children survive, learn and are able to protect themselves against this pandemic.
