Purwanchal Vidyamandir

Purwanchal Nagarik Samity, a multifaceted organization in the Kankurgachi area, serving the society since 1976, always felt the need of a well-equipped school in the Eastern Metropolis of Kolkata ,West Bengal and took a humble step in this direction.

The dream of having a school became a reality in the shape of PURWANCHAL VIDYAMANDIR at P-232, C.I.T. Road, Scheme - VIIM (Kankurgachi), Kolkata - 700054, West Bengal which commenced imparting quality education from the academic session 1998-99.

The School offers education from Nursery (3+) to Class - XII. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi for the ICSE (Class X) and Indian School Certificate (Class XII) examinations with the approval of the Department of Education of the Government of West Bengal. At the Plus Two level the school is affiliated by the Council (CISCE) to teach all of the three streams – Science, Humanities or Commerce to students as per his/her chosen option.

The first batch of students appeared for the ICSE Examination in 2006 and since then we have 100% pass result every year.

The School aims at attaining human excellence and perfection, not just in any field of knowledge or activity but elevating life in totality.

The institution aims to build up the students total personality so that they may become honest, responsible and patriotic citizens, competent to face life’s various challenges with courage and self confidence.

Co- curricular activities such as Music, Dance, Art & Craft in addition to Physical Training, Sports, Karate, Yoga, Scouts and Guides, Cubs & Bulbuls are encouraged to develop all facets of the students’ personalities.

Our School

A very warm welcome to Purwanchal Vidyamandir. We have been consistently preparing pupils to meet the challenges of the times ahead. We are passionate about offering children an exciting and stimulating experience to develop the academic creative and social skills that will enable them to lead a happy and prosperous life.

Our Facility

Library

We have an excellent library with numerous titles, magazines and reference books to amuse, inspire and inform. We always foster a love of books and a keen interest in learning.

Co-Curricular Activities

We are committed to create unlimited opportunities for all our pupils. We provide a wealth of co- curricular activities for children before, during and after school. We offer a diverse range that makes the most of our excellent resources and staff knowledge and expertise. Pupils are taken on study tours and field trips to enhance classroom learning by making real world connections. The school invites eminent persons from various fields to its programmes to benefit from their knowledge and domain expertise.

Medical Support

In the event of a pupil’s illness or accident, the pupil is taken in the infirmary and First Aid is administered. Parents are contacted immediately and the pupil is taken to our nearby Diagnostic Centre and Out Patient Department for consultation with a medical specialist. The facilities are owned and run by parent organisation Purwanchal Nagrik Samity and free adequate treatment is given to the pupil.

Computer Learning

Computer Science is taught as a subject from Class I onwards. We have two state-of -the-art laboratories equipped with the latest computer software and have internet access. Pupils get ample exposure and time at the computer.

Audio-Visual Room

A new audio-visual room has been set up with a seating capacity of 100 students. A state-of-the-art digital interactive panel has been installed to facilitate learning and for improved global interaction. Teachers can effortlessly deliver lessons using intuitive touch-screen technology and the availability of multi-category content.
