Vocal Music is taught under the guidance of expert teachers. Children learn to appreciate and perform at events in school.
Dance classes are conducted for the students to teach them grace and poise. Dance channelises the inner talents for fluidity and motion and energises the spirit.
General knowledge classes help to arouse curiosity in the minds of students and help them to find out more about the world, current affairs and politics. Awareness of one's environment is the key to success in this everchanging world and the G.K. classes help to serve this purpose.
Art & Craft adds a creative dimension to learning. It brings joy and originality to work making learning insightful and meaningful.
Value Education is the foundation of character building. Lessons and activities help students develop a moral compass to navigate life.
SUPW gives hands on experience to students to learn by doing. It involves all the senses and makes learning impactful.
The art of self-defence is taught by instructors skilled in karate. Courtesy, self-control, perseverance, integrity and indomitable spirit are the guiding principles of this group. Students here are strongly motivated to excel.
The aim of ‘Scouts & Guides’ is to develop the spirit of unity, fellow-feeling and good citizenship among the students by strengthening their character and helping them to make the world a better place. Through a variety of activities, the students of our school develop leadership qualities, learn about services useful to the public and train them to be good citizens.
The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It increases self-esteem and mental alertness, motivates students and enables them to become confident.
Purwanchal Vidyamandir celebrates its ‘Sports Day’ in the month of December every alternate year. We have two events – Junior Sports and Senior Sports on two different days.
Our school emphasizes on the importance of physical activities from a very tender age. Junior Sports is one of the most thrilling and exciting events of our school involving children from classes Lower Infant to Class V. Children take part in innovative sporting events based on a theme.
Secondary Sports involves ceremonies as lighting of the torch and the releasing of the balloons of the House colours by the Chief Guest, other than events like March Past, drill, yoga, pyramid, karate and athletics.
Students belonging to four different houses Blue, Green, Red and Yellow perform their best to earn points for their respective houses. The House with the highest points is declared the Champion but the ultimate winner is always the spirit of sportsmanship.
Students participate regularly in inter-school events conducted by the CISCE and the West Bengal State Council for School Games as well as schools and sporting academies.The school has boys’ and girls’ cricket teams which participate in CAB tournaments. Students play Basketball, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi in school under the guidance of the teachers. Chess is taught to students to hone their cognitive and problem solving skills.
Our Literary Club – inspires the students in effective public speaking to express their views clearly and eloquently.
Students have access to a whole world of opportunities through literary works. It fosters the creative and analytical skills of the students.
The club members are given opportunities to participate in debates, elocution, extempore and declamation.
The Quiz Club takes pride in being one of the most proactive & popular clubs of Purwanchal Vidyamandir. They are given opportunities to participate in inter-house quiz in the school campus as well as inter-school quiz competitions.
Sports Club is a platform, where students learn self-discipline , co-operation and team-work through various games like cricket ,basketball and various tracks & field events. Through this club the students are encouraged to participate in different games , learn skills and improve their health.
The Art & Craft Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir enhances the talents and creativity of the children. They are encouraged to give expression to their own creativity through various materials. Annual Art & Craft Exhibition is held in our school to showcase students creativity.
The students and the teachers of Tourjotrik- the Music and Dance Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir are always full of energy and enthusiasm. The club gives them adequate opportunities to channelize and showcase their potential and talent. Students endeavour to master Eastern and Western music and also participate in various school activities. Special functions are organised by the club members to celebrate important cultural events.
The Drama Club of Purwanchal Vidyamandir believes in the principle of teaching dramatics in the natural way. Our objective is to bring out the creative bent of mind of children and express that through words and action. The members participate in various inter-school events and bring back accolades..
Our Eco club is a means by which the students take action to improve their environment through eco- friendly activities. They are encouraged to practise the three R’s – Reuse, Recycle and Reduce waste in their daily lives. They are taught to appreciate the beauty in nature and keep their environment clean, healthy and hygienic.
Purwanchal Vidyamandir celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 9th July, 2023 at the Science City Auditorium with a grand cultural extravaganza marking a milestone since its foundation in 1998.
